Throughout my career, I've rarely limited myself to the responsibilities listed in my job description. Wherever I saw a challenge, I saw an opportunity to solve a problem, improve a process, or build something that would have a lasting impact.
Working in cybersecurity and enterprise technology, I've seen firsthand the consequences of weak security programs. I've seen organizations disrupted by cyber incidents, struggle with regulatory requirements, and face difficult decisions about risk, technology, and resilience. Those experiences reinforced my belief that cybersecurity is not just about protecting systems—it's about enabling organizations to achieve their mission with confidence.
At the same time, I've watched Africa undergo an extraordinary digital transformation. Governments are delivering digital public services, financial institutions are expanding digital banking, and businesses across the continent are embracing cloud technologies and innovation. The opportunities are immense, but so are the cybersecurity, privacy, and governance challenges that come with them.
I founded SKFT Solutions to help organizations navigate that journey with confidence. My goal is to provide practical, independent advice that helps leaders strengthen cybersecurity, manage risk, and build trusted digital systems that people can rely on.
As someone born and raised in Ghana who has spent more than two decades building a career in enterprise technology and cybersecurity in the United States, I believe I have a unique opportunity to bridge global best practices with Africa's rapidly evolving digital landscape. That belief continues to shape the work I do and the mission of SKFT Solutions.
Why "Sankofa"?
The name Sankofa comes from the Akan people of Ghana. It is often represented by a bird looking back while moving forward, carrying an egg in its beak. The symbol teaches that we must learn from the past to build a better future.
That philosophy reflects how I approach cybersecurity. Organizations don't become more resilient by chasing every new technology or reacting to the latest headline. They become stronger by learning from past incidents, understanding today's risks, and making thoughtful decisions that prepare them for tomorrow.
